Money Saving Tip #5

This week's money saving tip is something that I discovered a few years ago and I have done this off and on since then. I am back "ON" to doing it and it is great!

Tip #5: Use Powdered Milk
So you might not be ready to make a complete switch to powdered milk (we aren't either), BUT you will save $ by using powdered milk in your cooking. Whenever a recipe calls for milk, make some powdered milk and add that to the recipe instead of using real & expensive milk. Milk is more expensive here in Canada that in the US, and it is more expensive here in the city than when we lived in a smaller town. So I have made the switch again to powdered milk since we've moved. I give Dawson whole milk to drink and if we drink milk we will drink the same milk as Dawson. If we eat cereal we will use our regular milk, but for anything else, I am trying to use powdered milk instead of the real thing. We have some friends that have made the switch to powdered milk even for drinking a glass. It does taste different but if you make it in advance and keep it cold, the taste isn't that much different. Go ahead, give it a try!

I've been wanting to try the powder milk, in backing and such... but Papa the baker is AGAINST it, funny!!! I guess he add a bad experience with that type of milk hehe!
